Be careful! Now, I have to go roll a roll. Only other thing I can think of is that your heavenly green fruit is not as ripe as I like it to be. Securely in one palm, and whack a little harder. The only thing I would add is that after you’ve carefully cut avocado in half, hold the half w/seed. ‘easy way no cut finger’, however, I see Tim beat me to it. Couldn’t figure out an easy way to wrap an inside-out roll – duh! So thx for that! W/Spring on the front porch (finally!) I find myself enjoying the kitchen again (winter no springy) and, being the sushi lover I am. Keep cooking sushi or whatever !! You’re great !! Hehe I saw that… and spent all last night trying to figure out what to write!! Mine will be up sometime later today… 😉įortunately, I found ur website here. Mmmmm that sounds really good! I’ll have to try that sometime… if I do, then you’ll definitely see it up here! 🙂 Eating it while it is warm and crunchy on the outside buy almost melty on the inside is pure joy. Once fried he tops it with yummy eel sauce. Basically he takes a tuna roll that has tuna and avocado inside then he lays salmon on top of it and tempura frys the outside very lightly. It is very similar to a roll that my regular sushi chef makes that he calls his Phoenix Roll. 🙂 As long as you don’t drop the roll in the oil and make it splash and perhaps wear long sleeves just in case there is any spattering, you should be fine! Laureen – Aww don’t be scared! The roll is completely worth the risk of frying.
#Sushi boy irvine menu how to
Yvo – Yum yum yum this roll is soooo good! 😀 My hand hurt quite a bit, especially the first day or two, but it’s mostly all better… and it gave me a good reason to teach Son how to roll sushi! 🙂 I was being stupid and not nearly as careful as I should have been (bad Allison! *slap on the hand*) so it’s totally my fault that I stabbed myself.

Tim – Thanks! Yeah, I for some reason can never get the pit out that way (I try every time!) so I was trying to pry it out… with the knife. I would like to make some but am too scared to try and make it. However, this roll makes me crave for some Crazy California Roll. I am not a big fan of sushi but I do like looking at them. Ouch!!! Glad to hear it’s healing nicely but still, ouch!!! Mmm, yummy, I love eel sauce and this combination sounds delicious. I’m sure you have this information… But noting your mishap I had to share 😉

If you choose to use cucumber, slice it into long, thin sticks.Cut the avocado in half, discarding the pit.Mix imitation crab and mayonnaise, separating crab pieces and mashing into smaller pieces. No negative effects from the bits of avocado that probably got in my hand 🙂 (I put rubbing alcohol on it once it stopped gushing, but who knows now much good it was able to do by then!) Yes, I am clumsy… always have been and probably always will be. 😛 Luckily in the week since we made this sushi the stab wound has closed up nicely, although I still can’t push on it or carry heavy things with that hand.

🙂 Yum!Īs always, please be careful while you are using dangerous things such as knives and hot oil! Son was actually the one who made this and another roll that we haven’t posted yet because clumsy me stabbed herself with a knife! I was pitting the avocado and the knife slipped and went straight into my hand, so now I have a lovely little battle wound. I liked it so much that I thought that I should try making it myself… and I was very pleased with the result! It actually tasted almost exactly like the one at the restaurant. This is a roll that I first tried and loved at the Maki Maki in Irvine, California.
